Penetration Testing

A penetration test is a test conducted by an authorized company whereby attempts are made to penetrate or enter your network. If your business is regulated by an audit agency or falls under Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, then you need a penetration test conducted at least every 12-18 months.

Vulnerability Assessment

A vulnerability assessment is a comprehensive set of tools which when run on your network discovers all devices attached to your network and then scans each device for potential vulnerabilities. A vulnerability is any potential source that may be used by an unauthorized party to enter your network. Vulnerabilities are typically found in software due to weakness or changes in code, they may also be found in hardware or programming configurations.

Many companies provide Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessments, however, most Vulnerability Assessments consist of providing the client with a report which details the vulnerabilities found. We first provide a complete network vulnerability assessment which identifies all vulnerabilities found. We then provide the necessary remediation to correct the vulnerablities. After completing remediation, we run the vulnerability assessment again producing a before and after comparison report. This detailed assessment is completed within a 30 day period.
